Latest News

November 2024:

With calving over and some well-timed rain our paddocks are lush and the animals are looking fantastic.  We've just wrapped up our AI program, using a selection of exceptional local and international sires this year.  In total, we used seven sires, each carefully matched with the corresponding dams.  One of our standout picks was Rennylea T17,  chosen for his excellent feet and legs, which aligned perfectly with our priorities along with his exceptional muscling and depth of flank.  Can't wait to see the outcomes in '25.

Looking ahead to January, we'll be gearing up for our annual bull sale on the 28th of March.  We've already booked foot scoring, scanning and semen testing to ensure 100% that the bulls we sell will perform.  We're expecting around twenty 18 month old bulls and six 2.5 year old bulls - there will be plenty to choose from.

See you there!

Earlier In The Year

September 2024:

Well, the chill has subsided, and things are starting to warm up.  It would be great to get a little more rain in the next few weeks to really help things along.

On a brighter note, we are well into our calving season.  With calving due on the 23rd of August, we started seeing the first arrivals very early on - on the 12th, in fact.  There's been no need for intervention so far, and the calves are averaging 33 kg.

At the end of September, we'll be weighing in the 2023 calves for their 400 day weights.  The young "U" bulls are looking great, with a nicely balance group that are still sporting their winter coats.  The bloodline of most of these boys come from the Sitz Ranch in the US, more to come on this.

Earlier In The Year

July 2024:

We are around 6 weeks out from calving, which is always a pretty intense time of year.  Having the recent rains has been great as we have some nice fresh pick already coming along.  We've dusted off the scales, got the new tags out and we are likely to kick off around the 13th of August.  This year we should have some great calves from the girls with quite a good variety of amazing sires including none other than:

  • Sitz Stellar 726

  • Rennylea L519

  • Chiltern Park Picasso P9

  • Baldridge Compass C041

  • Clunie Range Queenslander Q311

We are getting to the end of the available 2024 bulls, so if yours is broken down or looking tired, get in quickly.  Amazingly Serene is still available, possible the best EBV's that we have achieved with a bull.

More to come soon with the arrival of our first calves on the ground
